1929 - 2005 Colonel H.H. Tunku Syed ‘Idrus ibni al-Marhum Tunku Syed Mohammed Al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin. b. at Kampong Lubuk, Batu Segamat, Johor, 21st December 1927, elder son of Y.T.M. Tunku Syed Muhammad bin Syed Dewa al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin, by his third wife, Y.M. Sharifa Intan binti Syed Dagang, educ. Malay Sch, Repah, Malay Coll, Kuala Kangsar, Perak, White Lodge, Davies, the Univ Coll of South West England, Exeter, Devon, and the Far East Training Centre, Nee Soon, Singapore. Succeeded on the death of his father, May 1929. Reigned under a Council of Regency until he came of age, and was invested with full ruling powers, at Tampin, Negeri Sembilan, 21st December 1945. Administrative and local government trainee (public admin & accounting) with Exeter and Exmouth town councils 1953-1954. Cmsnd as 2nd-Lieut Federation of Malaya Volunteer Force 1956, coy officer "A" Coy Federation of Malaya Volunteer Army Service Corps 1956, Admin Officer 11th Transport Coy (TA), prom Capt 1961, Mechanical Transport Officer 1961-1964, Col Cdt Regt 508 (AW), TA 1974-1978, retd 1978. Tunku Zain un-nisa [Zainon] binti Tunku Sulaiman, Tunku Istri (b. at Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan, 1932; d. at Tampin, Negri Sembilan, 30th April 2006, bur. Masjid Jamek Tunku Besar Tampin), third daughter of Y.A.M. Tunku Tan Sri Sulaiman ibni al-Marhum Tuanku Antah, of Negri Sembilan, by his sixth wife, Y.M. Sharifa Fatima. He d. at the Balai Besar, Tampin, Negri Sembilan, 26th December 2005 (bur. Masjid Jamek Tunku Besar Tampin), having had issue, one son and five daughters:
